Whitepaper Guideline

Although many scientific communities across the world are improving their diversity, equity, and inclusion, forest science continues to struggle with workforce diversity. To address this disparity, we founded Science-i in 2022 as an international research hub to empower underrepresented communities in global research and knowledge co-production.

Science-i Global Webinar Series 2022 invites all global and Purdue audiences to join our guest speakers from the Amazon Web Services, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, SilvaCarbon, National Indian Carbon Coalition, and Science Magazine in developing a whitepaper entitled ‘Empower the Under-Represented in Forest Science.‘ We will seek to publish this whitepaper in a world’s top academic journal.

This whitepaper will be produced from the scripts of the engaging conversation and dialogue on the topic, between the audiences and guest speakers. All participating audiences will be invited as coauthors of this whitepaper, provided that one will have completed all the following tasks:

  • Participate in at least three of the four webinars (see the schedule below for details)
  • Contribute to the idea development and manuscript writing
  • Complete all required authorship documents according to the timeline to be specified in Science-I
