Musingo Tito E. Mbuvi

Dr. Musingo Tito E. Mbuvi is Deputy Director Forest Research Support Services and Chief Research Scientist, Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).

Dr. Musingo Tito E. Mbuvi holds a PHD (Kenyatta University). He started his career in Ethnobotany, Participatory Forest Management (PFM) and then to Environmental Sciences where he specialized in community participation in forest management, forest management socio and ecological studies. Mbuvi piloted PFM in Kenya resulting to adoption and national implementation of PFM in Kenya. Over the years Mbuvi has undertaken research in forestry with a special interest in decentralization and governance. Mbuvi has coordinated several national regional and global projects and currently is a committee member of the Socio-Ecological Observatory for the Study of African Woodlands (SEOSAW) network.
