Instructions and tools for the Science-i Global Research Network

πŸ“Š Understanding Directory Metrics

The top of the directory displays real-time statistics of our scientific community. This includes metrics for Lead Investigators and the Total Network[cite: 8, 9, 11]. The Search Insight Bar dynamically adjusts as you filter data, providing instant context for your specific research queries[cite: 19, 36, 51].

πŸ’‘
Dynamic Search Insights: This bar tracks Found Projects, Unique Geographic Scales, and Investigators within your current filtered results[cite: 19, 36, 51].

πŸ” Search & Filtering Logic

Keyword Search: Scans across Project Titles, Team Member names, and metadata[cite: 52]. Best for finding specific species (e.g., "Teak") or specific PIs[cite: 26, 30, 41].
Metadata Filters: Quickly narrow results by Status (Ongoing/Closed), Geographical Scale (Global/Regional/Local), or Data Type[cite: 13, 14, 15, 38, 39, 40].

Note on Sorting: By default, projects are sorted by Last Activity[cite: 24, 25, 31]. This ensures that the most active research collaborations are always prioritized at the top of the list[cite: 75].

🚩 Instructions for Project Leads (PIs)

Maintain your project’s visibility by keeping your metadata updated via the Manage tab on your group page:

βœ… Project Stage

Track your project from "Pending" to "Published"[cite: 86, 88]. This updates your visual progress bar in the directory's Pipelines column.

✍️ Manuscript Progress

Update your drafting status[cite: 56, 85, 87]. This filter becomes searchable once your project reaches the Data Received stage.

🌍 Geographic Scope

Define your research scale (e.g., Global, Regional, or Local) to ensure other researchers can find your work effectively[cite: 59, 64, 74, 82, 103].
